LOCAL FRAMES
ARCHIVE 2025-26

“Local Frames” is a curated selection of work from Prague photographers we keep coming back to. It brings together images that caught our eye and stayed with us—defined by a strong sense of composition, atmosphere, or point of view. Each feature includes a single frame or a series, alongside a brief note from the artist.

If you’d like to be featured, send us your favorite shot along with a few words at readytoshoot01@gmail.com

01 MAXWELL GAUL

“As a model about to walk the runway, I found myself on the other side of the lens for a moment — watching the choreography director guide us under this surreal, glowing light.

There was a strange calm in the room, but also a sense of anticipation, almost futuristic in its atmosphere. I wanted to capture that tension — between stillness and what was about to unfold.”

“When disorder turned to beauty, and bonds grew deeper”

“This roll will always stay with me. It was shot at nūr in Gabriel Loci, the day of a massive off-location event - of course, that’s exactly when everything decided to go wrong. We lost our original space, and to top it off, my camera broke.

With no idea what to do, I called my friends at Ready to Shoot, and they came through with a Mju II that saved the day. What started in chaos ended up unfolding into something unexpectedly incredible —proof that beauty can come out of disorder.”

03 VLAD

“Years ago, a new friend encouraged me to use my point-and-shoot at a Lunchbox Candy party in Berlin. I felt a bit unsure. But it was those almost accidental pictures, taken while trying to focus over droplets of sweat running down my fogged up viewfinder that got me into photography in the first place.

This summer, the unsure feeling came back, as it does from time to time. Same place, same feeling. Unsure of what to do, overjoyed to be there, yet unsure. And then this one snap of a stranger came along. Forgotten between dancing and talking, it stared back at me from the negatives when developed. It reminded me of something. Reminded me and pointed at me. At who I am and where I come from. A glimpse of the past but also a reminder of why even in the moments of doubt and disbelief, I should be ready. To shoot.”
